On January 27th, the theme forum "Welcoming the New Year and Seeking the Future - AIGC Development, Practice and Opportunities" was successfully held in Xi'an, which was jointly organized by the Alumni Association of Tsinghua University in Shaanxi Province and the Association of Young Entrepreneurship Mentors in Shaanxi Province. The forum attracted about 1,000 alumni, young entrepreneurs and business executives from various universities in Shaanxi Province on and offline.

   This forum invited Dr. Peng Zhang, CEO of Beijing Zhi Spectrum Huazhang Technology Co., Ltd (Zhi Spectrum Qingyin), a startup company dedicated to building a next-generation AI driven by both data and knowledge, transformed by Tsinghua University's knowledge achievements, to systematically introduce to the participants, under the title of ChatGLM Big Model, the big language model's (ChatGLM) to systematically introduce the development history and application of ChatGLM to the attendees and help them understand and grasp the latest development of ChatGLM. Dr. Peng Zhang reviewed the development history of the Great Language Model and introduced the technical route and features of GLM (General Language Model) in detail. He further introduced the GLM-4 model in detail, as a benchmark of Open AI full model product line, GLM-4 has excellent performance on multiple datasets, and even exceeded GPT-4 on some tasks.At the end of the sharing, Dr. Peng Zhang looked forward to the application of GLMs in the industry, put forward the ecological roadmap of GLMs, and shared his thoughts on the future development of GLMs. Dr. Peng Zhang's sharing not only demonstrated the leading position of Wisdom Spectrum Qingyin in the field of GLM, but also provided alumni with a deep understanding of the future development of science and technology.

   In the subsequent roundtable themed dialogue session, guests such as Wang Wu, President of Tsinghua Alumni Association of Shaanxi Province, Xu Tao, Associate Professor of Northwestern Polytechnical University, Chen Bingxian, President of Shaanxi Youth E-commerce Federation, and Wang Peidong, CTO of Eurocard Smart Hublot, exchanged enthusiastic views with Dr. Peng Zhang on the topics of the integration of GLM and industry, and the impact of AI on e-commerce.

   Li Zhijun, Secretary of the Party Group and Director General of Xi'an Science and Technology Bureau and Xi'an Bureau of Foreign Experts, visited the forum and made a report on "Doing Tough Science and Technology, Doing Qin Chuangyuan, and Building Dual Centers" for the attendees, and introduced the ten major breakthroughs that Xi'an has made this year in the fields of information technology, life sciences, high-end equipments, air and space technology, new materials, new energy, and other areas that are encouraging.

  The forum provided an opportunity for alumni and young entrepreneurs to communicate with industry elites face to face. Participants said that through this forum, they not only learned about the latest progress of GLM, but also met more excellent talents in the industry and gained more valuable opportunities for communication and cooperation among alumni and between alumni and scholars.
